Our cattle always have access to grass and pasture. The final four months before harvest their grass diet is supplemented with grains to help give the meat flavor and marbling. Hogs are given grain year-round because grass does not give them enough protein to grow. Lambs are fed premium grass hay and supplemented with a high protein grain diet.
We are not certified organic, but it is our top priority that all of our livestock are raised without the use of antibiotics, steroids, and added growth hormones.
Yes, it is our top priority that all of our livestock are raised without the use of antibiotics, steroids, and added growth hormones.
The grain we feed our animals is a mixture of corn, barley, soybean, and minerals. It is grown and mixed locally. It is not certified organic or non-GMO. We also raise our own hay to feed our livestock.
All of our animals are harvested humanely at a local USDA approved butcher. Our butchers are wonderful people and professionals. Our beefs are aged a minimum of 14 days to provide optimal flavor.
